La lucha de este grupo de inconformes consiste en que retiren las Granjas Carrol del estado
- Rubén López representante habitantes de Tepeyahualco acusó a los gobiernos de los estados de Puebla y Veracruz, por estar solapando las irregularidades con las que opera Granjas Carrol que se dedica a la producción de carne de cerdo, las cuales aseguraron, están contaminando en gran forma el medio ambiente generando graves problemas sanitarios en la zona.
Agregó que los vecinos de estas zonas a la cual se le conoce como el Valle de Perote, ya han presentado síntomas de enfermedades estomacales, irritaciones en la piel, así como a presencia en la región de pestilencia, plagas de moscas, ratas y animales feroces.
Por ello, exigieron al gobierno del estado a que apresure las gestiones para que estas granjas dejen de operar en el estado, ya que está trayendo consigo consecuencias severas a la salud de los habitantes de esa zona.
Mencionó que las comunidades más alejadas por este la ubicación de la empresa Carrol son: Guadalupe Victoria, Tlachichuca, La Gloria, Chichicuautla y Tepeyahualco.
Lo anterior en el marco de la presentación de la quinta asamblea nacional de afectados ambientales en donde se tocarán estos temas con especialistas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y asociaciones ambientalistas.
